about

Cas Na Caora Hiortaich O (Trad/ Pàdruig Morrison)/Whistle the Commandment (Pàdruig Morrison)/Bodach Ròcabarraigh (Pàdruig Morrison)/The Boys of Glendale (Iain MacLachlan)
Pàdruig Morrison: accordion; Charlie Stewart: fiddle; Robbie Grieg: vocals and bodhran

The first tune is based on a song fragment from Peggy MacRae of South Uist collected by John Lorne Campbell (Canna Collection, National Trust for Scotland CW0114A525). The second is inspired by a story told by Ewen Morrison of North Uist about a piper playing outside on the Sabbath, to whom a minister asked if he knew the fourth commandment. He said no, but told the minister that if he whistled it, he would try to play it! (tape SA1972/132) The third is a song based on a story told by Pàdruig’s grandfather, Pàdruig Morrison Sr, and the last tune comes from the playing of its composer, Iain MacLachlan of Benbecula (tape SA1969/115).
