about

The Archive Project began in summer 2012, giving 7 young musicians from the Edinburgh Youth Gaitherin the chance to explore the sound and photographic archives at the School of Scottish Studies, University of Edinburgh. The aim was to find inspiration among the thousands of field recordings housed in the Archives: Scots songs, Gaelic songs, stories, recollections, poetry, fiddle tunes, piobaireachd, canntaireachd and much more, creating inventive new music.

All proceeds go towards supporting Edinburgh Youth Gaitherin's work.
