about

(Trad. Arr. Kirsty Law and Mike Vass)
Performed by the Edinburgh Youth Gaitherin Big Band
Caller Oysters (Words: trad/ Tune: Kirsty Law)/Unknown (Trad)

Kirsty wrote this arrangement for the EYG Big Band. It begins with a saying about fishing she heard on a tape made in the 60s by Hamish Henderson (SA1964/149). The song 'Caller Oysters' came from one of the women interviewed, and Kirsty wrote the tune here as the contributor was unwilling to sing it at the time.
